… it really does. I had a chance to perceive this video when it was shown on my local educational public television set quite a few years befriend. For those who are fair Buddy Holly fans, this is an absolute must to add to your collection of Holly memoralibia. The interviews are top-rate and are probably the most legal I have seen as they are from the people most closely connected to Buddy Holly and give a closer discover and insight into both his musical as well as his personal life. This is one video you will definitely want to preserve and contemplate over and over again (I serene do every February) .

This mans music was pure genius.I dont care how worn it is this man was the most tragic thing to happen to rock and roll when he died.I wasnt even born when he got on that plane, but you cant go through life and not hear his music.

The one thing that you savor seeing about musicians is their film clips. But with Buddy Holly there is not many available.

But here is some rare clips, and interviews with family members and friends.Well build together.I like to gape the places where he lived and visited in his short career. Its all here.

While i am a Beatle fan i would have rathered they talked about Buddy Holly more than filling region with Paul McCartneys versions of the songs. Now im not saying i didnt luxuriate in them,i objective felt there should be more Buddy Holly information instead.

But upon saying that this is a true informative video and almost everything you want to know about him is here.

Buddy is the upright master of Rock and Roll.Often it makes me wonder what he would have done had he lived. But as it says in the DVD,The Beatles were inspired by him, would they have had the same success had Buddy Holly lived? And The Rolling Stones first hit was a Beatles song, seems to me he started a chain reaction.

You want classic Sci Fi with visionary special effects and mind-bending themes? Check out STAR WARS or 2001! You want a zero gravity striptease, costumes that plunge off at a moment’s gawk, and a spot craft with wall to wall shag carpeting traveling through a lava lamp? BARBARELLA fits the bill! This is the widescreen DVD version with no edits. Although I have heard rumors of a more bewitching chop somewhere out there, this is not the PG rerelease from the 70s. Explore the movie Jane Fonda wants you to forget! Too unpleasant because she’s sexy, silly, and comely here. Groove to the soundtrack of Phil Spector rip-offs, look in terror as she seduces … well… everyone in the film (incuding a female tyrant with a horn!) . But collected, it’s resplendent tame and innocent fun. I contemplate this when I want to be in a proper mood. It’s amusing, fluffy fun! A pink bunny if you will.

This film, along with other dazzling classics such as “Beyond the Valley of the Dolls,” are obvious proof that the age of really, really awful yet satisfactory films is late us. State in the 41st Century, the hypersexual Barbarella goes in search of the nefarious renegade scientist Duran Duran and manages to stumble across what must be the grooviest planet this side of “Vegas in Residence.” In her quest to fetch Duran Duran (“Pardon me, but do you know Duran Duran? “), Barbarella manages to shag half the planet and pique the prurient interest of the substandard, yet uber-sensual bisexual queen (“hello, my radiant, comely”) . After demolishing the extraordinary Orgasmatron and getting herself locked into the queen’s funky chamber of dreams, Barbarella saves the day with a bubble of goodness and some back from her blind angel friend Pygor. The unbelievably awful acting in this film is very well counterbalanced by the astounding Pucciesque fun fur sets and improbable special effects (i.e. Everytime Barbarella has an orgasm her hair instantaneously perms itself!) It’s impossible, given our unique climate of cynicism, to beget beneficial quality camp like this today. All attempts to reproduce a movie this overwhelmingly abominable would fair have to fail. Yet, I cannot recommend this film highly enough – rush, do not amble, to ogle it.

Who could imagine that, 60 years after the event, a home-made rush tunnel would unexcited be recognizable? And in friable, sandy soil at that? Or that the rubber heed made from a POW’s heel, once old to invent forged documents for the escapees, would composed have the recognizable marking of German Nazi insignia? Or that a chain of Klim cans, once strung together to ventilate the tunnel, would collected exist in spite of decades of corrosion?

Buy,Download, Or Stream NOVA: The Great Escape! Click Here

This DVD shows this and more. Archeologists first obvious, from feeble aerial photos of Stalag Luft III, the region of the onetime hut that contained tunnel Dick. Next, the trap of Dick was located. It had been designed and then cleverly concealed in a concrete draining pit by a POW who had been a Polish engineer in the RAF. The tunnel opening itself was fair beyond a vertical slotted slab that had been fitted on the side of the draining pit (not the underside of the pit as erroneously shown in the film on the Gigantic Rush) . The corroded hooks once obsolete to seize the slab were also found. Section of the electric wiring ancient in Dick was level-headed visible. Most probably, it had been piece of that waterproof wiring that a POW had stolen from a German electrician. The fact that Dick had been abandoned for flee purposes and had been converted into a storage chamber explains the fact that the forger’s rubber note was also found in the upper allotment of the tunnel.

Because the tunnel had been dug thirty feet deep, a power shovel was conventional to dig a pit down to that level. One could at once relish the challenge to the tunnelers posed by the loose yellow sand. It kept cascading down into the pit. However, even though Dick had long since collapsed and the shoring boards rotted away, the crisp linear outline of the tunnel could mild be clearly seen at the bottom of the pit. Further probing revealed the chain of Klim cans once feeble to ventilate this tunnel. Unfortunately, the increasing anxiety of the sand collapsing caused further excavation to be called off.

Buy,Download, Or Stream NOVA: The Great Escape! Click Here

A number of ageing veterans of Stalag Luft III were on hand to search for the excavation. One of them was Jimmy James. The scenes of the excavation of Dick were interspersed with scenes showing venerable photos of the camp as well as descriptions of the Stout Sizable itself. It would be intelligent if there were a followup dig to the residence of Harry. After the Spacious Run, the Germans had poured sewage into the tunnel but, unlike Tom, did not blow it up. At very least the concrete plugs poured in by the Germans, into both the exit and entry shafts of Harry, should be readily findable.

IN A NUTSHELL:

This Nova documentary features the current and the valid dwelling of “THE Large Speed” as seen by “Battlefield Archaeologists” who narrate artifacts which fit together neatly with the record of “The Vast Speed”. Three survivors of the historic event are on hand at the dwelling and provide first-hand insight to augment the theories and official characterize. The high-security POW camp, Stalag Luft III, in Zagon, Poland, was on March 24, 1944, the area of a heroic mass elope where 76 allied prisoners got out, 50 were “killed while escaping” several weeks later after being captured, and 4 made it to safety.

Suffice it to say that the Nova battlefield archaelogical team, equipped with scientists, witnesses, engineers, and excavators, found the remains of one of the renowned escape’s tunnels along with a plethora of artifacts that encourage the historical and eyewitness accounts.

EXCELLENT COMPANION TO THE WAR DRAMA “THE Broad Dash” – Starring Steve McQueen:

This Nova documentary makes an terrific companion to the 1963 Hollywood drama [filmed in Germany], ideally to be seen immediately before the movie to provide insight and perspective. It is nice to gape that the eminent 1963 war drama “THE Ample Elope” starring Steve McQueen and Richard Attenborough was very closely based on fact, great more so than most other war dramas from the era.

“Azumi” is a highly recommended film. The fact that it is not available at the display time in (Space 1: USA) should not deter you from trying to acquire a copy of this rollicking and challenging ninja film. “Azumi” is a astounding, fun, and gripping ninja adventure film starring the fine (Aya Ueto) as the protagonist Azumi. The character Azumi is share of a young group of 10 war orphans, whose Sensei and father figure (Yoshio Harada) has trained them to become assassins, and upright what he believes are the ills of the country: Rampant corruption and war. Moreover, he lost his son in a war many years before, and therefore believes that to prevent further wars, then the ends interpret the means. And he has gathered up these orphans for a special purpose.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Azumi! Click Here

Furthermore, Yoshio Harada will give these 10 ninjas their first task. An famous one at that. One which will test their mettle and expose whether or not they have the will to carry out the uncertain assignments that lay ahead of them. However, this first mission of theirs is most novel, and if they pass it, they will have passed their most difficult test. And Yoshio Harada knows that if they do this, then they will obey his orders without hesitation. For what awaits these young ninjas is a hard crawl, and if they are to embark on their vital mission of changing their explain day society then they must be willing to sacrifice everything and anything dear to them. I will not give this portion away, as it is a very primary mission. Let’s unbiased say 5 of these young assassins will embark on their sail to rid the country of war.

However, the Sensei’s teachings of “the ends clarify the means” start to bother Azumi. Therefore, a change in her core plan system begins to distance herself from Harada’s teachings. But not her fighting abilities. She is as lethal and deadly as any master swordsman. There is a terrific character who plays a psychotic and totally demented killer who is place free to occupy and slay these marauding ninjas: And he does a really terrific job as the ’sick swordsman’. Capture this film with a grain of salt. It is a fun, tantalizing, and a very long and appetizing glance. [over 2 1/2 hours long]. Yet, it is well worth the time spent. The cinematography and acting are gargantuan. You will be pleasantly blissful. Also, this is the first of two Azumi films. And while “AZUMI 2″ is not as generous as the first one, it is aloof a valid film and worth the choose. I highly recommend this film.

Previously, I had heard nothing about Azumi. It was until I saw it that I had discovered a truely delightful and violent action film. Based in Japan, Azumi is about a group of assissins in a war between a Samurai sword wielding gang. With an acceptable memoir and loaded with lightning accelerate Samurai action, Azumi is a perfect Sunday-stay-in film. With very impressive stunts and deaths, Azumi will not dissapoint. However, it has *subtitles*.

Azumi also has one of the best and most psychotic villians I have seen.

Azumi is a incandescent action film and highly recommended.

Bennet Pomerantz AUDIOWORLD

I’ve been waiting for them to salvage lustrous and attach out a three disc station of the three Santa Clause films, since I don’t have any on DVD yet. I agree with most critics in thinking that the first is the best (in fact, I contemplate it’s our generation’s “Miracle on 34th Street”), the second not as satisfactory and the third not as splendid as the second. I peaceful like some aspects of the third film though, especially the whole “It’s a Fabulous Life” aspect of what would have been different if he had never become Santa.

So what do they do? They build out the trilogy in a reasonably priced spot, and they only build it available in plump cover!!!! I contemplate that DVD sales have shown that most fans want the films in widescreen, so this is ridiculous. I’ve got to have that the only reason they’re doing it is because they aloof have a great inventory of unsold elephantine veil copies, so they’re hoping that releasing it this diagram will depart some of them. Well, I didn’t retract them in tubby camouflage when you keep out the first two as a state that contrivance, and I won’t assume them now. I guess I’ll support waiting for them to keep out the spot I want.

When I purchased this film, I wasn’t paying beneficial attention, thinking that I was buying yet another version of Tolstoy’s celebrated work; however, it is, in fact, the 1968 Bondarchuk legend which I already owned in widescreen (letterbox) and which has now been packaged and edited by another distributor. Yet, in the raze, it’s quite a different film!

Buy,Download, Or Stream War and Peace! Click Here

First of all, this version has been “panned and scanned” to better facilitate a regular shroud television — so, this product is what we generally refer to as “full-screen”. Second, there are a few editing differences including some scenes that were not in the widescreen (letterbox) version and misssing a few scenes that were. This does not radically change the film but it was certainly inspiring to gawk.

Finally, the voiceovers and subtitles are COMPLETELY different, being estimable to the new widescreen (letterbox) version. Many more conversation parts are picked up in this version and the translation is far generous. In some cases, the two translations are quite different, this one aligning more with the highly recommended Maude translation of the current book.

Buy,Download, Or Stream War and Peace! Click Here

In the kill, I’m satisfied to gain both versions, as each has its advantages and disadvantages. In describe quality, this one cannot compare to the widescreen (letterbox) version as the clarity was somewhat compromised by the blow-up of the negatives during the “pan and scan” process. Quiet, it’s quite watchable.

As far as the fable goes, this is one of the finest war films ever produced. The Hollywood version of War and Peace starring Henry Fonda is a pathetic joke compared to this Russian masterpiece. You can reference my further descriptions of both the book and the widescreen (letterbox) film version on this space for more details concerning the accurate memoir.

I have two final comments: 1. Read the book prior to watching either version of Bondarchuk’s account and you’ll be great more jubilant in your concept of the account of Napoleon’s invasion of Austria and later of Moscow. 2. If you gain a regular TV then this is the version that you want. If you have a widescreen TV and already fill the widescreen (letterbox) version, I highly recommend that you grab this one too!

I had the opportunity to recognize this Kultur DVD edition of “War and Peace” enough to evaluate its presentation. Firstly, it’s not letterboxed, but full-frame. The opening title sequence only is letterboxed to some extent so as not to slash off all the titles, and this looks as though the unusual aspect ratio is not particularly wide to commence with. So while not a large deal of relate is carve off from the sides, there is some missing. The print is a righteous one, and the beauty and power of the film advance through, but it does not appear to have been restored to any huge extent. This means that the color intensity, disagreement, and brightness of the image fluctuates from scene to scene, and sometimes even within one scene (reel changes, perhaps? ) . The image throughout is a bit soft-focus, and it benefits greatly if you turn up the sharpness control on your monitor. There does not seem to be a expansive deal of blemishes, dirt, or hurt, though.

Buy,Download, Or Stream War and Peace! Click Here

The English subtitles are printed on the film itself, and therefore not removable. In the scenes where French is spoken, there is a jabber superimposed on the soundtrack translating what is being said into Russian, which is of no interest to the English-speaking viewers who will be watching this DVD. In these cases, you have an actor speaking French, an additional order speaking Russian, and an English subtitle simultaneously, which is distracting to say the least. It’s hard to imagine why a print with this feature was chosen, unless it was the absolute best-looking print available.

That brings up the subject of the alternate recount of this film due at the waste of December from the Russian Cinema Council (Ruscico) . Judging from past Ruscico DVD releases, it may well be a restored, archive-quality print (hopefully letterboxed) . Ruscico releases appear at a very listless rate, but when the do they are worth waiting for, which is what you may want to do.

The film calm makes a graceful impact, even in this less than perfect presentation. If you lift full-frame presentation, you may even pick this one. It seems to me, however, that most cinemaphiles whose interests are arcane enough to extend to this film would want it presented in its new aspect ratio, in an edition as halt to the source material as possible. Those people may well take to explore what Ruscico offers.

As someone who’s been intrigued since childhood by suitable crime stories and forensics, I was transfixed by this magnificently crafted documentary when it premiered some years ago on the Sundance Channel. The sinuous map that the record unfolds, how starkly the characters on all sides advance to sing themselves, the mystery of what actually happened to Kathleen Peterson, the tragedy of three families torn asunder over two decades, and all of it framed by truly haunting novel music…I often found myself gasping in amazement and appreciation. What a rare opportunity to be a skim on the wall, an insider regarding this amazing and deeply disturbing narrative! I remember starting out with a strong feeling of sympathy for the dreadful husband, Michael Peterson, and identification with the twin tragedies of losing a loved one and being unjustly accused.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Staircase! Click Here

Nonetheless, even though the film was clearly sympathetic to the defense – chapter titles like `Prosecution Trickery’ and `A Old-fashioned Case’ leave no doubt – and granted worthy more time to their arguments and concerns, a gut feeling began to emerge: neither Michael Peterson nor his chronicle added up. How on earth could a drop down the stairs cause those injuries, or result in that powerful blood? And if it was an accident, why did he select off his shoes? Try to wipe the walls trim? Lie to 911 about Kathleen breathing when she had clearly been dumb for some time? Lie to the EMTs about being in the house unbiased prior to the plunge and saying it must have happened when he honest went out to the pool for a few minutes? Change his tale for the detectives when he realized the evidence told a different chronicle? Despite extensive opportunities to provide a detailed explanation and accomplish a strong case for reasonable doubt – including a computer-simulated multiple-fall scenario – the defense’s hired guns failed to persuade, perhaps because Peterson’s occupy comportment was often so damning.

Long after seeing `The Staircase’, I realized I was smooth bugged by the case. I began to read more about the trial, notice at the evidence…and was timorous to bag a relate almost completely different from the film! What director Jean-Xavier de Lestrade left on the cutting room floor was a towering mountain of irrefutable forensic evidence pointing to Peterson as a vicious, calculating killer. Honest the blood spatter evidence alone would have been more than sufficient to prove that this was kill, committed by Michael: spray patterns high on the walls indicated that a long, thin weapon with the victim’s blood on it was whipped around in the stairwell; some of the spatter was from blows where the victim’s head was nowhere come the steps, stairlift, or track; exquisite spatter from struck blows – not footsteps, say – found its intention upward into the crotch of Michael Peterson’s shorts, proving he stood over her, striking the top of her head; his bloody footprint was stamped onto her pants leg; there were layers of fresher blood on drier blood, with later impacts spraying an spot of the wall that had already been wiped down in a furtive attempt to shipshape up. The blood evidence strongly suggests that Michael plan she was dull and already had attempted to alter the scene when she revived unexpectedly – probably while he was in the kitchen – prompting a second, fatal attack at the foot of the stairs.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Staircase! Click Here

`The Staircase’ doesn’t exactly report how it was almost immediately positive to investigators that the scene had been staged; that attempts had been made to camouflage the bloody stir to the kitchen; and that in all this blood there was not a footprint, fingerprint, or other impress of an intruder (one diminutive feather aside, no evidence of a killer owl, the defense team’s latest Hail Mary assertion) . Furthermore, the autopsy findings were replete with complex, time-dependent trauma you don’t hear about in the film, including defensive wounds; facial lesions indicating a struggle; the lack of congruence between the scalp lacerations, the steps, and the stairlift; and the presence of `red neurons’ in the brain, indicating that principal blood loss occurred by 12-12:30am at the latest, over two hours before Peterson’s highly suspicious 911 calls starting at 2:41am. There was also a inviting lack of indispensable bruising on the hips or legs – an absence highly unlikely in the multiple-falls-down-stairs scenario proposed by the defense but consistent with the two theorized rounds of head and upper body assault (which seem to have included some punches and throttling as well) .

Basically, it appears Peterson failed to understand that the timeline of his staged scenario – he claimed at first that the plunge had honest happened, a short time before the 911 call – wouldn’t acquire up. Nor had he imagined that a forensic meteorologist would easily disprove his second narrative – that he sat alone by the pool between 1-2am, wearing exiguous more than a tee shirt and shorts in 50 degree December weather, and only discovered Kathleen when he came inside. Like most calculating murderers, especially narcissistic ones, he underestimated the investigators’ skill and insight. To their trained eyes there was a world of inequity between Kathleen Peterson falling down the stairs and being beaten to death over a period of an hour or two.

Artful and compelling though `The Staircase’ is, I have to consider that Lestrade, director of the righteously gracious `Murder On A Sunday Morning’, archaic this case to reach a point of understanding familiar to those who know his work: that Peterson was a victim of bias, a grieving husband prosecuted by narrow-minded people who loathed his politics, were intimidated by his intelligence, resented his success, and aimed to exploit his bisexuality in court. The fact is that Lestrade has said as considerable in interviews since the film’s release. There can be no denying that the prosecution did play the sex card for all it was worth, but perhaps it would have been malpractice to do otherwise: the defense’s opening statement was that Michael & Kathleen had an almost storybook, `soulmate’ kind of marriage, which his compulsive delighted tomcatting at the Y (uncovered by the defense team’s investigator) seemed to belie. And the lethal confrontation could well have been triggered by Kathleen stumbling across some of Michael’s explicit emails to joyful escort `Brad’ when she surprised her husband by asking to exercise his computer tedious that evening and proceeded to consume his email yarn to receive a work-related document from a colleague. So, the defendant’s sexual behavior was highly relevant to both prosecution and defense, and the jury was spared some of the more incriminating parts.

Politically, Lestrade and I probably have alot in accepted, and his other films have argued powerfully for justice, but unfortunately `The Staircase’ dons the blinders again and again. If the director had truly aspired to fairness, he would surely have given the prosecution a chance to explain how considerable the financial motive was – they did this quite effectively at trial, honest in front of Lestrade’s cameras. The film also sidesteps the scheme the prosecution demonstrated that a serious marital rift had started to unfold the Friday evening before Kathleen’s death, with Michael’s Saturday email reference to an argument they had while out for dinner, followed by Peterson quick deleting thousands of happy porno pics from his computer that afternoon, objective hours before the fatal events. He didn’t delete them all, though, and the forensic data expert’s testimony left no doubt that Kathleen had been using Michael’s computer – a rarity, according to other testimony – fair minutes before the neurological evidence shows she started to lose massive amounts of blood.

Lestrade stated some time later in an interview that Michael wouldn’t have been prosecuted if he hadn’t been pleased. There is indeed a gargantuan deal of cruel prejudice in this world, and not objective in Durham. As regards the Peterson case, however, the director’s assertion is unsupported by the facts, which strongly suggest otherwise. No experienced investigator coming upon that scene at Forest Hills could possibly have failed to realize in short order that this was a brutal, cold-blooded destroy, staged to peruse like an accident. And then to learn that Michael Peterson had also been the last person to glance Liz Ratliff alive before she ended up at the bottom of stairs drenched in blood, years earlier…of course he would be a strong suspect. Lestrade should know that every single juror who was interviewed later insisted that there was never any difference or doubt on the panel that a slay had been committed, and that physical evidence like the ‘red neurons’ and blood spatter were incontrovertible. And Lestrade to the contrary, the juror interviews I’ve read suggest that jury members were far from narrow-minded about Peterson’s sexual orientation – what seems to have mattered most to them about the defendant was his duplicitous behavior. One comes away with the impression that the panel was relatively thoughtful and conscientious.

Frankly, from a forensic standpoint, the Peterson case turns out to have been alot more straightforward than most people, including many of the film’s reviewers, seem to judge. That suggests to me that this riveting but deceptively selective film has misled many of us. I’m reminded a cramped of Oliver Stone’s shamelessly truthy `JFK’, a fictional film masquerading as fact. ‘JFK’ purported to retort the riddle of Dallas but actually led viewers about as far from the truth as it was possible to go, meandering off into the byzantine, self-aggrandizing paranoia-realm of the thoroughly discredited Jim Garrison.

As with that film, `The Staircase”’s tragic flaw stems from a intellectual but self-righteous director’s blindness to his hold prejudices. The result: an unforgettable film whose dishonesty makes for an irony I can’t quite accumulate out of my mind.

I watched the Peterson trial on Court TV in 2003, heard all the witnesses, and was convinced of Peterson’s guilt. I rented this DVD the other day and watched all 6 hours compulsively. The inside gape at Peterson, his defense team, and their strategy sessions was racy. But one spacious problem: the filmmaker was so entranced by the defense case that he left out majorly principal evidentiary facts. As another reviewer on this location indicated, the filmmaker left out the very evidence that the jury customary to convict Peterson. Broken wineglass, his bloody footprint on her relieve, red neurons in her brain (indicating she’d been bleeding to death and unconscious for over 2 hours), ruptured hyaline cartilage in her throat (characteristic of attempted strangulation; not possible from a tumble), blood spatter on the inner, wrong-side-out leg of his shorts, evidence that he tried to elegant up the scene, and powerful more. Too abominable for Peterson that there were 3 nurses and one clinical researcher on the jury. They weren’t fooled by Henry Lee’s assertion that ‘there was too worthy blood for a beating’! Such an absurd statement.

Interestingly, in one of the DVD’s ‘extra’ features, the filmmaker complains about how unfair the American justice system is! Well, I’m complaining about how unfair this film is! I give it 4 stars because it was well done and I couldn’t halt watching. But don’t be taken in by this allotment of propaganda. The sincere evidence against Peterson was overwhelming.

I initially had no interest in this film, thinking who wants to observe a movie about some two bit dope dealer? My teenage son, however, rented the DVD, and I found myself a captive audience. To my surprise, it was a riveting, well done film. Distinct, it was about a two bit dope dealer, but what a myth. George Jung, an all American kid from a hard working, hard knocks family, begins dealing marijuana during the 1960s. He develops his business into an empire, and then he decides to branch out into the sexier world of cocaine and really mountainous money. Using his remarkable entrepreneurial instinct, he makes a deal with the Columbian drug cartel. Before you know it, he is raking in millions. Unfortunately, the best laid plans often go awry, and there is no fairy myth ending for George. This is a fable of hopes, dreams, violence, greed, and betrayal.

Well directed by the slack Ted Demme, the film is compelling and gripping as it recounts George Jung’s fantastic odyssey in the drug trade, tracking the rise of the cocaine industry in the United States, attendant with all its violence. Johnny Depp, in the role of George Jung, makes him into a likable guy who has bitten off more than he can chew, with ultimately dire results. His is a search for the American Dream, a dream that forever remains elusive.

Ray Liotta is terrific in the role of George’s father, Fred Jung, a sensitive and devoted everyman married to a hard, selfish woman, Ermine Jung, a woman who lacks all motherly instincts and is played with gritty determination by Rachel Griffiths. Jordi Molla is salubrious in the role of Diego, George’s entre into the world of high stakes, cocaine dealing, and Cliff Curtis is grand as Escobar, the Columbian drug cartel’s main man. Penelope Cruz is dreadful as George’s dazzling Latina wife, Mirtha. She is simply a terrible actress whose English is often unintelligible. With the exception of Ms. Cruz, however, the cast is uniformly advantageous.

This is the account about a young man who, faced with choices in his life, made the deplorable ones and lived to regret it. Johnny Depp captures the pathos of Jung’s wasted life. That his characterization is tiring, on is brought home by Ted Demme’s improbable interview of the steady George Jung. This interview is one of the numerous bonus features on this DVD and is well worth watching. It is a poignant interview, as it underscores that Jung’s was a life wasted. It also serves to illustrate honest how grand Depp’s characterization of Jung really is. All in all, this is a vibrant, informative, and inviting film.

This film presses all the just buttons, but being touted as basically the true-life memoir of George Jung, I was disappointed that the film paid slight respect to the chronology of vital events and completely overlooked many of the defining moments of George’s career.

Having already read the book “Blow” – available from Amazon and an advantageous biography – perhaps I found it more difficult to derive “into” the movie, often asking myself “why is this happening/not happening now? ” amongst other things…

A few determined changes for dramatic do, perhaps…..

1. George’s first girlfriend (played by the babelicious Franka Potente) tell’s George she has an incurable disease, so he skips bail to hang out with her in Mexico until she dies. In valid fact, the girlfriend was dumped attractive mercurial, was never fatally-ill (interviewed for the book) and was one of a long, long succession of girls that George primitive and discarded during his “career”. He skipped to Mexico purely because he didn’t want to go to jail, and disappear into “quantity” smuggling of marijuana.

2. George is basically kidnapped and taken to Colombia to meet Pablo Escobar, – a test – and this meeting “starts” the whole coke business. In fact however, George had been importing/dealing astronomical quantities of coke for a few years before going to meet Pablo – something he did voluntarily on his maintain, to bag place among the Florida-based Columbians and score favour with Pablo in his problems with Carlos Lehder – a cartel member.

The movie ignores or trivialises many of George’s character traits – grand long-term coke usage and the resultant psychosis and paranoia, his life-long addiction to hookers, kinky sex, including masochistic tendencies played-out by cross-dressing (french maid) and being dominated and “spanked” by his wife while tied spread-eagled to their marital bed, among many others.

The turning point, the inaugurate of his “loyal” troubles is when George confides his secrets to an undercover cop whom he meets one afternoon on the beach out-front of his house. In short-order, George invites the guy into his house, tells the cop that he’s a big-time smuggler and immediately makes him piece of the “operation” without brilliant anything about the guy. This of course brings astronomical heat onto George, and the good-guys initiate engineering George’s downfall.

The movie omits this entire pivotal event however, perhaps because the real-life event, that for a apt big-time dealer with $30m stashed in the house,at least, displayed a degree of stupidity and naievety that would get Johnny Depp’s George (colorful, hip, trusting) peer dumb and honest too fabulous to be sympathetic.

Nor is there any honest basis for the whole father/daughter interplay in the movie, which I personally assume is overdone, and is shapely out-of-character anyway.

Finally (at least for this review) the money George had stashed away in Panama, approx. $50m apparently, was not confiscated by the Panamanian Govt (Noriega) – George never visited Panama – but was stolen by the pilots who opened the bank chronicle for George, (co-signatories) and flew the cash down on a regular basis over several years. It defies understanding that over several years, George never notion to enquire about the balance of his memoir, and honest kept shuttling the cash into the narrative, but that’s what actually happened.

Carlos Lehder was arrested in Colombia – basically fingered by Escobar for bringing the heat down on the cartel because of his loopy political beliefs, extradited to the States, with George being the main prosecution view. This gained George early release, and it was actually another bust in the mid-80’s that reulted in George’s exhibit incarceration. Again, none of this was in the movie, although I judge it would have brought another perspective to George’s characterisation, and also given George some revenge for his beating by Carlos’ thugs on Norman Cay (never happened) had it been included.

I guess all these and many more lawful inaccuracies in combination with Johnny Depp’s overly sympathetic portrayal of George – almost a victim of circumstance – and definitely too “nice” to be in the drug business, are so far off the real-deal that it made it very difficult for me to give this movie the respect that so many others assume it deserves….

All this doesn’t close the movie being reliable entertainment but I can’t succor thinking how kindly it “could” have been, had it been a itsy-bitsy more legal to George’s loyal account.

The cast is generally outstanding, the discover and sound of the DVD transfer never less than scrumptious, and the soundtrack really brought relieve the 70s / early 80s for me – a time of poor fashion, worse haircuts, and for most of us, a time probably best forgotten.

Buy the DVD. The book “blow” is definitely worth reading, and if you’re aloof eager in the whole coke thing, believe checking out the book titled “Killing Pablo” a proper perceive at the the coke business, the Medelin cartel, and the hunt-for and eventual killing of Pablo Escobar. Now “there’s” a movie unbiased begging to be made……

Printer Problems

July 9th, 2010 by Admin

By James Madison

Printers have become an essential component of a computer. This means, sale of printers have increased and so has printer problems. Hence, every printer user should be aware of different printer issues, different printing terms, and different basic printer troubleshooting etc. to use this device to its fullest. The users may also require computer help and tech support to cope with printer problems.

Earlier, printers were a part of the corporate world but now printers have reached home users too. Many home users are using printers for personal use. Moreover its not limited to just printing from a desktop to a printer, home users are now doing all advanced usage of printers like sharing a single printer with more than one computer or a laptop.

Moreover many new remote session tools have come up in the market where users can sign up for a particular price and connect their office pc to their home pc. Using these they can do remote desktop printing from their home pc to the office pc and vice versa.

Remote desktop printing is used in corporate environments too as in a network environment in an office every user cannot have a local printer attached to their pc. Here comes the idea of remote desktop printing. This is mainly helpful for those who work on remote computers a lot or those who travel a lot and need to print something to their office pc; it is highly helpful to them.

There is another way of printing which is used only in corporate environments compared to home users. It is Terminal Server Printing. There are 2 scenarios under terminal server printing: Client Printers and Server Printers. In terminal server printing users can print from one location to another location e.g. one print from London to a printer in USA.

Last but not the least is DOS printing. This is useful for those who still use DOS for certain office jobs. There are different commands in DOS using which one can print to a USB printer even though it is being printed from DOS.

Behind all these there is always a basic factor involved- i.e. printing and no printing is possible if there is no printer wizard involved. Although nowadays all printers need to be installed using the wizard, the software interface itself helps in installing. But in case of network installation the wizard plays a major role.

whether you are having problems with Client Printers, Server Printers or with your home printers, you can ask for tech support. If you are planning to buy a printer, it is also suggested to learn about the printers and its problems. To resolve any printer problem, you can also talk to a help desk specialist.

How To Get Rid of Installation Issues !

By James Madison

If you have faced any of the above issues while completing the installation process then you should seek help from a computer repair technician. Through remote tech support your PC issues can be resolved within minutes. Most of your computer issues will be resolved over phone, email and chat. You just need to tell the exact issue to a computer repair professional. One of most common issue is failure in CD drive recognition. The worst part is that due to lack of knowledge we opt to format the machine. This often leads to loss of data. Just because the CD drive is not recognized does not mean that one needs to format the machine. Let us understand this problem in details with the help of computer repair technician.

The moment we realize that CD drive is not recognized or CD drive not working properly, we conclude the root cause to be a virus issue. Though this issue cannot be ruled out completely. But most of time this may not be the reason. So you do not have to worry, to rule out this possibility you simply need to carry out full system scan with an authentic anti virus software and check if the problem is solved. It is understood that the damage done by the computer virus cannot be reversed by antivirus software. You need to check if the issue has been resolved completely. But if the disappearance of the CD is not your problem then its just that its not working properly. In this case scanning your system with an anti virus will definitely resolve your issue. Let us try and find out why computer CD drive is not detected.

According to computer help experts the problem can be due to reason that CD/ DVD ROM drivers are not installed properly or might have been corrupted. But before solving this issue, you should take into account another reason due to which CD drive may not be recognized in laptops. You might always get the option of safely removing the hardware for CD/DVS ROMs too. It might happen that while you are trying to remove an external hard drive you might remove the CD/ DVD Rom by mistake. Now you try to figure out the possible solution for this problem. A laptop has small notch below the CD/ DVD ROM which you need to press a bit so that it slightly comes out. Once it comes press it back gently. This will connect the CD drive back to the laptop. Now you need to click on My Computer and you will find that the CD drive symbol is restored back in its place. When this problem is being dealt you need to know the primary reason for the CD drive not being recognized. Just take care of these steps while solving the CD drive issue. Probably you must have understood that formatting the computer is not the last option to solve this issue.

A prelude to Ashtanga Primary Series

July 9th, 2010 by Admin

A prelude to Ashtanga Primary Series

The www.ashtangaguide.com training consists in the   Primary, Intermediate and Superior Series of poses. Each   a single starts with the Surya Namaskara or the Sun Salutations followed by position postures. Next to standing postures is the   extra challenging Yoga Chikitsa.

The workout begins with all the sun salutations or Surya Namaskara purifying and restoring health, adopted by standing poses. The position poses needs   versatility thus prepares the body for additional   difficult seating poses of Yoga Chikitsa. The seated Chikitsa is additional challenging than the standing pose with the ashtanga yoga main series since this will involve a more complex positioning that involves   a lot more coordination and concentration. The Yoga Chikitsa or Yoga Therapy helps develop a nutritious mind and system. Once you do the exercise you primarily perform on aligning your spine as well as detoxification of your body and building stamina and flexibility.

The corpse, a pose that signifies that your body is in a state of utter relaxation, ends the yoga session. Streaming Clerks Online

Streaming Clerks Online. Streaming Clerks Online.

Movie Title: Clerks
Average customer review:

Clerks is available for streaming or downloading.

I’m not going to express the place of Clerks, since tons of other reviewers have already done that, but instead I’m going to focus of the DVD, because I don’t feel enough people write about that.

First off here’s the special features:

Audio Commentary: This commentary features a nearly countless amount of people, but mostly Kevin Smith with the occasional tid bit from actor Brian O’ Halloran (also known as Brian Christopher O’ Halloran) or producer Scott Mosier. Funnily, Jason Mewes showed up drunk for the recording of this and lies on the floor past out most of the time, sometimes waking up to mumble or roar “Snootchie Bootchies.” Obviously only one mike was venerable for this, but that never bothered me remarkable, because the commentary is a load of fun, with tons of captivating things and laughs. I like this grand better than the overrated Mallrats commentary.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Clerks! Click Here

Deleted Scenes With Introductions by Kevin Smith: There are about 6 deleted scenes, almost all of them extended bits, but all of them animated. Ones I particularly liked were the longer Gum Guy’s speech, the longer conversation with Dane and Veronica, and the longer talking between Veronica and Randal. The only completely additional scene is in #3 where Randal tries to pursuade a customer to rent Smokey and the Bandit 3. Not very silly, but intriguing. The introductions to the scenes by Kevin Smith are very suitable, short and to the point, where as in all the other DVDs he rambles on for about two minutes about why you should visit Jay and Calm Bob’s Secret Stash or mumbles or wastes time going “Um,” you rep my point. In these intros he simly states what you’ll procure modern in the scene and then you idea, I deem the longest intro is about thirty seconds. Pleasant.

Original Ending: The frightening new ending is included for your enjoyment, and it is certain why it was lop, although I personally like the scene and consider it’d be a ample ending to the film. Why? Because it ends on a downer, objective like Dante and Randal talk about early in the film, and is more realistic (OK, maybe not, but I like it) . Sit through the short region of credits for a breif cameo by director Smith. The ending features an introduction where Smith states how gratified he is that the scene was cleave. Provocative.

Music Video: The laughable music video for Soul Asylum’s “Can’t Even Insist”, featuring a recreation of the hockey scene, in color no less! It’s an intriguing peep at what if would be like if the movie was in color, but it’s also a stunning valid song, and the video is enchanting, measuring around four and a half minutes. Introduction by Smith is included, which is sparkling appealing.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Clerks! Click Here

Theatrical Trailer: The film’s fresh trailer is included with introduction by Smith, where he states how crazy he is for it and that it’s one of his current trailers ever. It’s a nice trailer and all, but really, it is unprejudiced a trailer, and I consider he sees into it more than most people will (though I read a review that called the trailer “a portion of film itself”) .

Anyway, those are the extras. It doesn’t see like distinguished, but quality overwhelms quantity, and all these extras are very frigid, and worth your time.

The sound and characterize on the film is gorgeous, at least when you deem about it. Remember Clerks cost less than a car to perform, and the recount is consistently grainy throughout, as well as unlit and white (oh boo hoo to all you people who can’t discover a sunless and white movie), but I could always yell what was going on, and after about two minutes, I got dilapidated to the grain (you will, too) . The sound is a 2.0 surround sound that is always positive and never bothersome. There’s minor convey, but barely irritating (or noticeable) .

Anyway, I like CLerks a lot, although most people won’t sight it because of the dismal and white portray and a lot of people collect it lifeless, but I impartial don’t understand how anyone could obtain a movie with such tremendous acting and dialouge dull. Well, if you need an explosion or a bunch of action every ten minutes…..

Hope you liked my review (kind of long, sorry), and please vote if it was genuine. Thank you for reading.

Watch Love Affair Online

Watch Love Affair Online. Watch Love Affair Online.

Movie Title: Love Affair
Average customer review:

Love Affair is available for streaming or downloading.

Click Here to Stream or Download Love Affair

I have seen An Affair to Remember long before I watched Fancy Affair. Altho “An Affair…” became one of my current classics (along w/ Gone with the Wind and Casablanca), I personally buy Esteem Affair because i was more moved by it. the actors are shining, especially Ms. Bening, whose eyes captivate the audience. she unprejudiced GLOWS in it and Mr Beatty is effortless in playing himself. they give the film a sense of reality. the movies basks the audiences in feeling of excitement, despair and hope of falling in treasure. it’s a classic. so yeah, don’t forget the box of tissue. i can’t accumulate enough of this film!

“Cherish Affair” is a remake of an “Affair to Remember” which was made approved because it was rather valuable in the spot of “Sleepless in Seattle.” Honest to do it more bewitching, “Affair to Remember” was a remake of the unique “Fancy Affair.” Warren Beatty plays Mike Gambril, an ex-football star (an distinct allusion to Beatty’s “Heaven Can Wait,” which was a mighty more successful remake of an older film) who meets Terry McKay, played by Annette Benning, on a flight to Sydney. The plane is forced down and the two destroy up on a uninteresting boat benefit to civilization. Both are engaged to other people, but since these two are married in right life and since very few people will have seen “Treasure Affair” without having seen or heard about the earlier versions, it is stunning positive this is not going to work out. But they want to remove time to be clear, and so an ill-fated rendezvous at the Empire Location Building is site up to confirm their destinies.

Katharine Hepburn’s performance as Michael’s Aunt Ginny is touted on the box veil, not honest because “Admire Affair” proved to be the final theatrical film in her storied career (she did appear in one more made for television movie), but because she steals the prove in her brief scene. Hepburn is abetted in this exertion by the local, a resplendent lovely South Pacific island as lush and as a green as any you have ever seen. There is also a fabulous position up for her scene, where Beatty asks Benning to go ogle his aunt and the couple capture a series of scenic jaunts to the mountainside home, punctuated by Benning’s humorous asides. The role of the hero’s aunt has always been a improbable character allotment for an older actress in every one of the film versions of this myth, but certainly Hepburn is given more consuming things to say. For those who are shy to hear Hepburn expend contaminated language, you should remember that thirty years earlier she was probably the first person to say the word “fornication” on film in “The Lion in Winter.” As Ginny explains her perspective on what type of bird Beatty happens to be and what that means for his future, there is no inequity between Benning and her character, both of whom are clearly basking in Hepburn’s presence.

As always, Beatty surrounds his main characters without outstanding supporting players, from Kate Capshaw and Pierce Brosnan as the recent intendeds with whom no one can gain fault, to Brenda Vaccaro and Paul Mazursky as other couple on the boat, to Garry Shandling and Harold Ramis as Mike’s agent and financial adviser, to Chloe Webb as Terry’s confidant after “the accident.” If, in the final analysis, Beatty is not up to the pivotal moment in the climax where the pieces advance together, then it is because the memory of Cary Grant’s performance in the previous remake is unprejudiced too overwhelming. Certainly Benning shines throughout the film, so there is no doubt why he is after her even if the opposite is established more by Beatty’s reputation, wonderfully established in a series of news flashes in the film’s opening, than by anything the actor actually does in the film itself. He looks sterling, but she looks grand and you raze up thinking Beatty remade this film not fair because its epic hits home to him but also because he really wants to prove off his wife. Ultimately it is the women in this film who redeem it and construct it more than what Annette and Warren did on their summer vacation, although the fact that the woman is the more fascinating character this time is probably not enough to accomplish it near out ahead of the Grant/Kerr version for most of us.

Average customer review:

The Agony and the Ecstasy is available for streaming or downloading.

There is no other film on the subject of art that is better than this one in my view. Irving Stone’s best-seller was a titanic read, but in this case the film is better than the book. It centers on the creation of the Sistine Chapel ceiling, and the contentious but invigorating relationship between Michelangelo and Pope Julius II; one drove the other “to complete his work”, and even their verbal battles were productive. It is about the courage of putting one’s vision into reality, the hard work, and the faith in one’s self and in God.

The script by Irving Stone and Philip Dunne is fabulous; the words pace like sweet wine and there is not a single unnecessary scene, or rarely one that is not meaningful. The direction by Carol Reed is meticulous, the cinematography by Leon Shamroy a marvel, and the fetch by Alex North adds worthy to the film. The costuming and sets are lavish for the papal quarters and the Medici household, and give one a sense of 16th century Rome, and the depictions of the fresco painting technique is moving and educational.

Charlton Heston, gaunt and bearded, is knowing as Michelangelo, as is Rex Harrison as the warrior pope. The interactions of these two actors is riveting, and the dialogue between them worth hearing repeatedly. Others of mark in the cast include Diane Cilento as the Contessina de Medici, Harry Andrews as Bramante, and Tomas Milian as Raphael (the most notorious papal portrait I know of is by Raphael, of Pope Julian II) .

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Agony and the Ecstasy! Click Here

Though Stone’s book and script catch noteworthy artistic license, there is also a qualified deal of accuracy. This period of 16th century Italy was one of the most racy in all world history, and Pope Julius II was not only one of its greatest art patrons, but also an astounding man.

This is a film that moves me to tears with its beauty, and brightens my mind with its words. If you are enthusiastic in the artistic process, don’t miss this gorgeous film.

The film includes a Prologue, a mini-documentary of modern-day Rome and Florence, which traces Michelangelo’s life, from his birth in Tuscany in 1475, showing his many wondrous works, including an early sculpture he did at the age of 15, through his death in 1564. Total running time is 139 minutes.

I’ll leave the artistic merits of this movie for others to argue over. Suffice it to say that it moves at a late plod, and that the two main actors (Heston and Harrison) choose turns mugging, gnashing their teeth and chewing the graceful scenery. However, since Amazon’s product listing doesn’t list the technical specs, here they are:

This DVD release of THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY was made from the modern 65mm Todd-AO negative, digitally restored. Aspect ratio is true at 2.20:1, anamorphically enhanced for widescreen TVs. The colors are deeply saturated, and the describe looks quite bewitching, with limited grain on my high-end Sony HDTV CRT.

The available soundtracks (all Dolby Digital) are 1.0 mono English, 2.0 stereo English, 1.0 mono French and 1.0 mono Spanish. (Contrary to what another reviewer here says, there is NO 5.1 surround soundtrack — a sorry deficiency for a film originally released in 6-track.) IMPORTANT: On my copy of the disc, the DEFAULT soundtrack is the 1.0 mono English. There is no separate menu for selecting the audio you want, so you must press the AUDIO button on your DVD remote ONCE to score the 2.0 stereo English soundtrack. You’d reflect Fox would want people to hear the stereo track by default!

The obliging news is that the 2.0 stereo track is very well-kept, with the novel 5-channel cloak spread and directional dialogue faithfully preserved. It’s not as chubby and crisp as a novel soundtrack, but remember that this was recorded forty years ago. If you listen with headphones, it’s easy to hear how considerable of the dialog was re-recorded on a dubbing stage. In a few intimate scenes, though, the whirring of the camera is faintly audible.

Alex North’s obtain has some nifty stereo effects, even if the title theme is disturbingly reminiscent of Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra.

The disc includes the complete roadshow presentation: modern-day introduction (with comely aerial photography and closeups of Michelangelo masterpieces), intermission music, entr’acte music and exit music. There is also a demonstration of the 65mm restoration process, and some trailers of other Fox epics from the 50s and 60s, including THE ROBE and THE BIBLE. (None of these extras are mentioned anywhere on the packaging.)

If you’re hoping to appreciate the grandeur of the 60s widescreen epics, this disc will not disappoint.
